Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.23% in an upbeat market

Bosch Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.7 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.23 per cent at 21963.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 91.25 points at 22459.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 322.53 points at 74060.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Indian Railway Fin and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Geojit Financial, Aegis Logistics, Yuken India and Data Patterns(India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, NBI Industrial, GIR Natureview, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and Regency Ceramic hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
