Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.22% in an upbeat market

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.31 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.22 per cent at 21945.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 24.65 points at 22427.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 117.15 points at 73970.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Kotak Bank, SAIL and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Raj Oil Mills, GPT Infraproj, Commercial Engg, Yuken India and IZMO hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kotak Bank, Atal Realtech, Melstar Info, Keerti Knowledge and Sonam Clock hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
