Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.15% in an upbeat market

Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.15 per cent at 25254.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 54.4 points at 23377.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 209.8 points at 76816.37.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Hind Const Co, YES Bank and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Zenith Exports, Saurashtra Cements, OM Metal Infra, Alicon Castalloy and Oracle hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Borosil Scientific, Excel Realty N Infra, Viji Finance, TV Vision and Raj Television hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
