Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.07% in a weak market

Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.56 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.07 per cent at 23356.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.66 points at 22505.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 74.55 points at 73931.39.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, BEL, Indian Railway Fin and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GRP Ltd, Bharat Bijlee, Rolex Rings, Elgi Rubber Co and Sudarshan Chemical hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equip, Megastar Foods, Premier Ltd, Morarjee Text and Golden Tobacco hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
