Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.03% in an upbeat market

Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.68 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.03 per cent at 22005.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 57.8 points at 22700.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 219.07 points at 74902.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, SAIL and NMDC Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Emkay Global, DC Infotech, GKW Ltd, Arvee Laboratories and Vedanta hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Digjam L, Welspun Invst, Melstar Info, Universus Photo and Gopal Snacks hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
