Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:39AM

Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 5.05%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 1.53%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 1.39%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.28%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.21%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.14%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 0.68%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.53%) and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 0.31%) were among the top gainers.

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 2.16%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 1.53%), MOIL Ltd.(down 0.51%) and NMDC Ltd.(down 0.23%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 29.8 points down at 21993.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 83.6 points at 72559.83 at around 10:39AM.

Tata Steel Ltd.(up 3.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.33%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.81%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.36%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.24%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.21%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.89%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.71%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.66%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.65%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd.(down 2.01%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.99%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.93%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.65%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.6%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.34%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.25%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.24%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.13%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.06%) were trading in the red.
