Stock market update: Mining stocks mixed as market falls

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 609.28 points at 73730.16

NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 7.63%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 3.95%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 3.76%), NMDC Ltd.(up 2.26%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 1.06%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.75%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.15%) stood among the top gainers.

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 3.78%), MOIL Ltd.(down 2.86%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 1.18%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.74%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 0.74%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 0.57%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 0.46%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 150.4 points down at 22419.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 609.28 points at 73730.16.

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 7.44%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.49%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 3.31%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.75%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.01%), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.79%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.75%), ITC Ltd.(up 0.56%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.54%) and UPL Ltd.(up 0.51%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 7.73%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 3.52%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 3.33%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 3.12%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.48%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 2.07%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.05%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.03%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 2.02%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.97%) closed in the red.
