Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:09AMJHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.21%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 2.19%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 2.13%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 1.98%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 1.97%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 1.21%), Dodla Dairy Ltd.(up 1.08%), Emami Ltd.(up 1.00%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(up 0.91%) and Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(up 0.80%) were among the top gainers.
Adani Wilmar Ltd.(down 1.92%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 1.83%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(down 1.62%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.10%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 1.03%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.99%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 0.95%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.94%), Dabur India Ltd.(down 0.87%) and Jyothy Labs Ltd.(down 0.86%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 37.85 points down at 21985.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 92.86 points at 72550.57 at around 10:09AM.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.92%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.51%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.79%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.71%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.68%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.65%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.64%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.59%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.47%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 0.46%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 3.07%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 2.95%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 2.3%), UPL Ltd.(down 2.08%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.39%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.3%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.14%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.03%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.99%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.99%) were trading in the red.
