Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 165.32 points at 73667.96
NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.Future Consumer Ltd.(up 5.27%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 3.70%), Gillette India Ltd.(up 2.07%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 0.59%) and Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd.(up 0.22%) stood among the top gainers.
Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 7.25%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(down 6.48%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 4.91%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(down 4.79%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 4.35%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 3.94%), ADF Foods Ltd.(down 3.88%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(down 3.61%), Dodla Dairy Ltd.(down 3.29%) and Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 3.08%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 3.05 points up at 22335.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 165.32 points at 73667.96.
HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 2.23%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.7%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.69%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.01%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.78%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.71%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.64%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.61%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.26%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.65%), Cipla Ltd.(down 2.55%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 2.37%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.94%), State Bank of India(down 1.81%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.53%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.45%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.39%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.34%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.32%) closed in the red.
