Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia down 1.09%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.09%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN ), which rose 0.63% or 3.80 points to trade at 611.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p ) added 0.26% or 1.60 points to end at 607.40 and Polyus PAO (MCX:PLZL ) was up 0.03% or 3.50 points to 12,952.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS ), which fell 7.01% or 1.29 points to trade at 17.12 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS ) declined 4.89% or 2.68 points to end at 52.13 and GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX:GMKN ) was down 4.68% or 5.50 points to 112.90.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 182 to 64 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS ) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.89% or 2.68 to 52.13. Shares in GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX:GMKN ) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.68% or 5.50 to 112.90.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.05% to 34.71.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 4.80 to $2,560.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.14% or 1.66 to hit $75.76 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $78.97 a barrel.

USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 91.50, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 102.33.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.46.
