Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia up 0.14%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power , Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.14% to hit a new 52-week low.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN ), which rose 2.83% or 16.60 points to trade at 603.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p ) added 2.56% or 15.00 points to end at 601.80 and NK Lukoil PAO (MCX:LKOH ) was up 2.56% or 157.50 points to 6,305.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:VKCO ), which fell 3.59% or 14.20 points to trade at 381.20 at the close. Mobil’nye Telesistemy PAO (MCX:MTSS ) declined 2.66% or 5.65 points to end at 207.15 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT ) was down 2.22% or 1.09 points to 48.05.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 149 to 94 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:VKCO ) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.59% or 14.20 to 381.20. Shares in Mobil’nye Telesistemy PAO (MCX:MTSS ) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.66% or 5.65 to 207.15.

The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.49% to 32.70.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.35 to $2,550.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 1.23 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $76.09 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 91.50, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 102.05.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.04.
