Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.28%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.28%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP ), which rose 1.05% or 0.18 points to trade at 16.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM ) added 0.81% or 0.12 points to end at 15.00 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP ) was unchanged 0.50% or 0.00 points to 0.42 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR ), which fell 2.12% or 0.31 points to trade at 14.33 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT ) declined 1.03% or 0.18 points to end at 17.26 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP ) was down 0.95% or 0.04 points to 3.86.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for December delivery was up 3.08% or 2.36 to $78.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.04% or 2.23 to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 16.80 to trade at $2,642.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.73.
