Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms , Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR ), which rose 2.85% or 0.41 points to trade at 14.79 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP ) added 1.84% or 0.07 points to end at 3.87 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT ) was up 1.47% or 0.07 points to 4.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA ), which fell 8.46% or 0.26 points to trade at 2.79 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT ) declined 1.18% or 0.20 points to end at 16.75 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA ) was down 0.66% or 0.06 points to 8.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.79% or 0.58 to $73.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.88% or 0.62 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.20 to trade at $2,525.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.33.
