Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.45%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology , Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS ), which rose 3.35% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM ) added 1.84% or 0.26 points to end at 14.40 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP ) was up 1.74% or 0.01 points to 0.41 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR ), which fell 0.78% or 0.11 points to trade at 14.06 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA ) declined 0.56% or 0.05 points to end at 8.87 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP ) was down 0.55% or 0.02 points to 3.78.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.74% or 0.01 to 0.41.

Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.84% or 1.48 to $78.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.12% or 1.64 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 9.60 to trade at $2,545.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.65.
