Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 1.52%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.52%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO ), which rose 3.51% or 0.33 points to trade at 9.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA ) added 2.57% or 1.36 points to end at 54.33 and America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB ) was up 1.13% or 0.18 points to 16.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES ), which fell 7.27% or 21.24 points to trade at 271.11 at the close. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC ) declined 4.02% or 6.18 points to end at 147.58 and Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB ) was down 3.27% or 5.05 points to 149.17.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 148 to 92 and 19 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 14.00 to $2,680.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.43% or 0.97 to hit $68.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.91 to trade at $72.00 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.49% to 19.71, while EUR/MXN rose 0.24% to 22.00.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 100.15.
