Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.60%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare , Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.60%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA ), which rose 2.47% or 1.69 points to trade at 69.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC ) added 1.85% or 3.23 points to end at 177.02 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q ) was up 1.34% or 2.08 points to 156.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA ), which fell 3.29% or 0.39 points to trade at 11.42 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO ) declined 2.77% or 1.41 points to end at 49.24 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO ) was down 2.56% or 0.32 points to 12.16.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 148 to 91 and 12 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO ) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.77% or 1.41 to 49.24.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.29% or 7.30 to $2,553.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.11% or 2.33 to hit $77.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $80.17 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 19.41, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.66.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 100.76.
