Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA ), which rose 2.89% or 0.47 points to trade at 16.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL ) added 2.50% or 3.77 points to end at 154.27 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO ) was up 2.03% or 0.23 points to 11.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA ), which fell 5.49% or 1.81 points to trade at 31.18 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO ) declined 3.02% or 1.34 points to end at 43.01 and Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:VESTA ) was down 3.01% or 1.51 points to 48.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 123 to 118 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.99% or 26.51 to $2,717.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.65% or 2.70 to hit $76.62 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 3.61% or 2.78 to trade at $79.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.14% to 20.71, while EUR/MXN rose 0.63% to 21.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 109.47.
