Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto , IT and Capital Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.05%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA ), which rose 4.75% or 470.75 points to trade at 10,384.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL ) added 1.72% or 9.10 points to end at 537.95 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI ) was up 1.59% or 23.65 points to 1,510.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC ), which fell 1.77% or 5.75 points to trade at 318.60 at the close. LTIMindtree Ltd (NS:LTIM ) declined 1.27% or 72.40 points to end at 5,632.00 and Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR ) was down 1.16% or 6.00 points to 513.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO ) which rose 1.58% to 1,085.50, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN ) which was up 1.44% to settle at 1,775.75 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI ) which gained 1.40% to close at 1,507.05.
The worst performers were Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML ) which was down 1.17% to 1,592.00 in late trade, Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR ) which lost 1.07% to settle at 513.20 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT ) which was down 0.93% to 1,660.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1315 to 1142 and 24 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1992 rose and 1783 declined, while 108 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA ) rose to all time highs; rising 4.75% or 470.75 to 10,384.95. Shares in Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN ) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.44% or 25.15 to 1,775.75.
The India VIX , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 3.88% to 13.51.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.63% or 15.95 to $2,532.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.14% or 0.83 to hit $73.84 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.78 to trade at $78.00 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.03% to 83.90, while EUR/INR rose 0.02% to 93.27.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 101.33.
