Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction , Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr ), which rose 5.83% or 1.34 points to trade at 24.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Profile Syst (AT:PRFr ) added 5.73% or 0.28 points to end at 5.26 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr ) was up 3.90% or 0.42 points to 11.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr ), which fell 1.01% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.96 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr ) declined 0.94% or 0.02 points to end at 1.68 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:TWSr ) was down 0.92% or 0.03 points to 3.24.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 43 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 15.30 to $2,541.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.97% or 1.36 to hit $70.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.75% or 1.27 to trade at $73.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 101.31.
