Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.15%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages , Software and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction , Insurance and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.15% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index lost 0.40%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG ), which rose 2.34% or 3.66 points to trade at 159.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG ) added 1.91% or 1.50 points to end at 79.98 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG ) was up 1.29% or 1.60 points to 126.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ), which fell 3.92% or 2.00 points to trade at 49.06 at the close. Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn ) declined 2.02% or 10.10 points to end at 490.10 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn ) was down 1.61% or 0.58 points to 35.36.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn ) which rose 2.94% to 42.02, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG ) which was up 2.80% to settle at 53.20 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER ) which gained 2.32% to close at 31.82.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which was down 5.74% to 50.95 in late trade, SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP ) which lost 5.62% to settle at 24.54 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX ) which was down 4.70% to 33.83 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n ) which rose 8.08% to 93.60, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG ) which was up 2.27% to settle at 35.18 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG ) which gained 1.50% to close at 67.80.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which was down 5.74% to 50.95 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG ) which lost 3.44% to settle at 95.45 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG ) which was down 3.00% to 23.94 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 347 to 279 and 41 ended unchanged.

Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.74% or 3.10 to 50.95. Shares in SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP ) fell to all time lows; falling 5.62% or 1.46 to 24.54. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.74% or 3.10 to 50.95.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.53% to 12.88 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.79% or 49.31 to $2,707.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $70.02 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.24 to trade at $73.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 106.26.
