Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.39%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail , Food & Beverages and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction , Software and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.39%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.78%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG ), which rose 4.37% or 2.14 points to trade at 51.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G ) added 2.15% or 2.60 points to end at 123.45 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) was up 1.78% or 0.59 points to 33.67 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG ), which fell 3.15% or 2.46 points to trade at 75.66 at the close. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG ) declined 2.44% or 5.05 points to end at 201.80 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn ) was down 1.67% or 0.95 points to 55.88.

The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which rose 5.20% to 63.75, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC ) which was up 5.03% to settle at 129.40 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER ) which gained 4.87% to close at 33.61.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV ) which was down 4.93% to 11.20 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which lost 3.93% to settle at 14.18 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG ) which was down 2.75% to 8.57 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which rose 5.20% to 63.75, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) which was up 4.74% to settle at 61.90 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG ) which gained 4.37% to close at 51.06.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV ) which was down 4.93% to 11.20 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which lost 3.93% to settle at 14.18 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G ) which was down 2.79% to 17.10 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 334 to 273 and 31 ended unchanged.

Shares in Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.15% or 2.60 to 123.45. Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.78% or 0.59 to 33.67. Shares in Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.87% or 1.56 to 33.61. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.79% or 0.49 to 17.10.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.68% to 14.68.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.15 to $2,681.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.07% or 1.48 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.57% or 1.17 to trade at $73.30 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 100.50.
