Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.59%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology , Construction and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.59%, while the MDAX index lost 1.30%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.37%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn ), which rose 1.33% or 2.70 points to trade at 206.00 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn ) added 0.95% or 0.13 points to end at 13.29 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p ) was up 0.85% or 2.00 points to 237.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ), which fell 6.69% or 1.71 points to trade at 23.84 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn ) declined 3.54% or 1.07 points to end at 28.98 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn ) was down 3.32% or 16.40 points to 477.30.

The top performers on the MDAX were Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX ) which rose 1.30% to 74.00, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn ) which was up 0.48% to settle at 10.41 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG ) which gained 0.46% to close at 869.50.

The worst performers were Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG ) which was down 4.85% to 54.90 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which lost 4.73% to settle at 13.90 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX ) which was down 4.67% to 32.26 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p ) which rose 0.85% to 237.50, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) which was up 0.20% to settle at 50.50 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G ) which lost 0.27% to close at 36.56.

The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG ) which was down 11.01% to 118.00 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G ) which lost 5.78% to settle at 18.57 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which was down 4.73% to 13.90 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 479 to 150 and 20 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn ) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.33% or 2.70 to 206.00. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.78% or 1.14 to 18.57. Shares in Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.27% or 0.10 to 36.56.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 8.97% to 17.66.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 16.20 to $2,526.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.23% or 1.54 to hit $67.61 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.24% or 1.63 to trade at $71.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.20.
