Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.92%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology , Construction and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.92%, while the MDAX index declined 1.06%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.56%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G ), which rose 1.85% or 2.20 points to trade at 120.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn ) added 0.93% or 2.40 points to end at 260.40 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG ) was up 0.70% or 0.16 points to 22.87 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn ), which fell 4.68% or 1.53 points to trade at 31.28 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe ) declined 3.47% or 1.18 points to end at 32.78 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p ) was down 3.21% or 2.24 points to 67.56.

The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG ) which rose 4.49% to 87.25, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG ) which was up 1.21% to settle at 39.20 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG ) which gained 0.77% to close at 104.50.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) which was down 6.60% to 15.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG ) which lost 4.95% to settle at 6.24 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG ) which was down 4.09% to 3.17 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn ) which rose 0.22% to 26.74, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG ) which was down 0.07% to settle at 27.12 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG ) which lost 0.14% to close at 141.80.

The worst performers were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn ) which was down 6.90% to 11.88 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) which lost 6.60% to settle at 15.70 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) which was down 6.42% to 53.90 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 439 to 161 and 39 ended unchanged.

Shares in Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G ) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.85% or 2.20 to 120.85. Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn ) rose to all time highs; rising 0.93% or 2.40 to 260.40. Shares in CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG ) rose to all time highs; rising 4.49% or 3.75 to 87.25. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.60% or 1.11 to 15.70. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.60% or 1.11 to 15.70.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.03% to 14.26.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.38% or 9.60 to $2,518.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.81% or 2.80 to hit $70.75 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.40% or 3.41 to trade at $74.11 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.75.
