Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.83%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology , Construction and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.83%, while the MDAX index lost 0.55%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.53%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn ), which rose 2.48% or 0.78 points to trade at 32.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn ) added 1.16% or 0.30 points to end at 26.12 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn ) was up 0.84% or 1.70 points to 203.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn ), which fell 3.82% or 1.20 points to trade at 30.09 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe ) declined 3.29% or 1.08 points to end at 31.70 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG ) was down 2.71% or 0.35 points to 12.73.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG ) which rose 5.06% to 15.58, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn ) which was up 3.23% to settle at 91.32 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC ) which gained 2.99% to close at 120.70.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which was down 5.82% to 60.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG ) which lost 5.45% to settle at 5.90 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG ) which was down 4.92% to 6.80 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which rose 2.62% to 14.51, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn ) which was up 1.16% to settle at 26.12 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG ) which gained 1.08% to close at 56.20.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which was down 5.82% to 60.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG ) which lost 5.45% to settle at 5.90 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) which was down 4.82% to 51.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 411 to 194 and 31 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.48% or 0.78 to 32.23. Shares in Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn ) rose to all time highs; up 1.16% or 0.30 to 26.12. Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn ) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.84% or 1.70 to 203.70. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.06% or 0.75 to 15.58. Shares in LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn ) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.23% or 2.86 to 91.32. Shares in Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.16% or 0.30 to 26.12.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 13.64% to 16.21.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.90 to $2,524.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.95% or 0.67 to hit $69.67 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.83% or 0.61 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.33.
