Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.00%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Retail and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.00%, while the MDAX index added 1.21%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.98%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG ), which rose 7.23% or 4.04 points to trade at 59.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG ) added 2.61% or 2.52 points to end at 99.16 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn ) was up 2.44% or 0.73 points to 30.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN ), which fell 6.79% or 1.99 points to trade at 27.25 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG ) declined 0.60% or 3.00 points to end at 499.40 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G ) was down 0.33% or 0.40 points to 119.70.

The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which rose 4.96% to 13.76, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG ) which was up 3.98% to settle at 80.95 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER ) which gained 3.20% to close at 40.30.

The worst performers were Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn ) which was down 3.74% to 283.00 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) which lost 3.36% to settle at 14.69 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G ) which was down 1.41% to 37.76 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which rose 4.96% to 13.76, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) which was up 4.60% to settle at 70.50 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn ) which gained 3.05% to close at 29.02.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) which was down 3.36% to 14.69 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n ) which lost 2.98% to settle at 89.65 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G ) which was down 1.41% to 37.76 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 417 to 193 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.36% or 0.51 to 14.69. Shares in Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER ) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.20% or 1.25 to 40.30. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn ) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.36% or 0.51 to 14.69. Shares in SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) rose to all time highs; up 4.60% or 3.10 to 70.50.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.77% to 18.24.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.80 to $2,633.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.50 to trade at $76.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 102.60.
