Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.92%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail , Chemicals and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.92%, while the MDAX index added 1.36%, and the TecDAX index added 0.87%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG ), which rose 10.30% or 2.20 points to trade at 23.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) added 9.44% or 2.52 points to end at 29.21 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG ) was up 4.17% or 0.63 points to 15.63 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn ), which fell 1.02% or 0.41 points to trade at 39.81 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG ) declined 0.42% or 0.21 points to end at 49.79 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG ) was down 0.21% or 0.35 points to 168.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG ) which rose 5.49% to 2.98, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG ) which was up 4.75% to settle at 8.03 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn ) which gained 4.63% to close at 36.17.

The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG ) which was down 2.52% to 100.40 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn ) which lost 1.16% to settle at 68.00 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG ) which was down 0.47% to 17.06 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn ) which rose 5.19% to 11.76, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG ) which was up 4.31% to settle at 6.30 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which gained 4.21% to close at 14.84.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn ) which was down 1.16% to 68.00 in late trade, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG ) which lost 0.45% to settle at 66.60 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG ) which was down 0.42% to 49.79 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 446 to 157 and 27 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.44% or 2.52 to 29.21. Shares in Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn ) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.16% or 0.80 to 68.00. Shares in Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn ) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.16% or 0.80 to 68.00.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.87% to 16.10.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.19% or 30.80 to $2,611.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.45% or 0.31 to hit $69.28 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.31 to trade at $72.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 101.04.
