Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.75%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages , Retail and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.75%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.26%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.56%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG ), which rose 3.55% or 2.68 points to trade at 78.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG ) added 2.57% or 0.38 points to end at 15.16 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG ) was up 2.24% or 0.62 points to 28.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG ), which fell 1.02% or 1.00 points to trade at 96.94 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn ) declined 0.90% or 1.90 points to end at 209.10 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn ) was down 0.84% or 0.27 points to 31.80.

The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG ) which rose 6.35% to 8.81, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn ) which was up 6.18% to settle at 292.20 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which gained 4.48% to close at 60.60.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which was down 4.34% to 14.76 in late trade, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE ) which lost 2.77% to settle at 87.60 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG ) which was down 1.56% to 884.50 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG ) which rose 4.48% to 60.60, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG ) which was up 2.74% to settle at 63.70 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG ) which gained 2.16% to close at 5.91.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which was down 4.34% to 14.76 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG ) which lost 2.74% to settle at 127.80 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G ) which was down 1.73% to 17.59 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 363 to 237 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG ) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.24% or 0.62 to 28.30.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.83% to 14.20.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.80% or 21.35 to $2,673.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.65% or 1.16 to hit $71.53 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 1.21 to trade at $74.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 100.27.
