France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.32%

Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities , Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.32%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF ), which rose 1.45% or 0.88 points to trade at 61.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF ) added 0.90% or 0.84 points to end at 94.00 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP ) was up 0.39% or 0.15 points to 38.26 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY ), which fell 4.75% or 1.43 points to trade at 28.68 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM ) declined 4.09% or 0.51 points to end at 11.90 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN ) was down 3.86% or 0.39 points to 9.79.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS ) which rose 8.61% to 5.70, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP ) which was up 2.85% to settle at 10.64 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO ) which gained 1.50% to close at 18.63.

The worst performers were Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC ) which was down 8.03% to 27.50 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI ) which lost 6.68% to settle at 3.52 and La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ ) which was down 6.36% to 34.44 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 344 to 158 and 99 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY ) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.75% or 1.43 to 28.68. Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.09% or 0.51 to 11.90.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 1.05 to $2,670.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.41% or 3.09 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.18% or 3.09 to trade at $76.99 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.86% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.78.
