Dolly Khanna picks 1.1% stake in this multibagger microcap stock in June quarter; shares jump 12%

Ace investor picked up about a 1.1% stake in , which manufactures lead and lead alloys for batteries and other applications, in the June quarter.

According to the latest shareholding pattern available with the exchanges, Khanna has bought 32,923 shares, which comes to just over 1% stake. The investor didn't have any holding in the company in the preceding March quarter.

Nile is majority-owned by the promoters with 50.43% stake, while public shareholders own the rest of 49.57%. Among the public shareholders, mutual funds and foreign investors have negligible holdings.

Nile, a with a market cap of just over Rs 500 crore, is engaged in manufacturing pure lead for battery consumption.

The company has two divisions - lead and wind energy. The lead division produces lead and lead alloys, and the windmills generate electrical energy.

Its product range includes pure lead, lead-antimony alloys, lead selenium alloys, lead calcium alloys and lead-tin alloys.

The company also has two secondary lead recycling plants. It's first lead recycling plant has an annual capacity of approximately 32000 tons per annum (TPA) and is equipped with recycling and testing facilities. The second unit has an installed capacity of approximately 65000 TPA and is located near Tirupati.

In the recent March quarter, the company's net profit fell to Rs 6.33 crore from Rs 8.4 crore a year ago. Meanwhile, revenue from operations in the same period also came down to Rs 174 crore, compared with Rs 217 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Dolly Khanna, a Chennai-based veteran investor, is known for picking lesser-known stocks that usually go on to outperform the market. Dolly Khanna's portfolio typically leans towards more traditional stocks in manufacturing, textile, chemicals and sugar stocks.

As per the latest corporate shareholdings filed, Dolly Khanna publicly holds 18 stocks with a net worth of over Rs 496.7 crore.

On Friday, following the stake buy by Khanna, shares of Ltd jumped as much as 12% intraday to Rs 1,845.
