Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate , Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF:GGBR4 ), which rose 2.27% or 0.41 points to trade at 18.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:GOAU4 ) added 1.84% or 0.19 points to end at 10.52 and CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3 ) was up 1.62% or 0.09 points to 5.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ), which fell 24.14% or 1.75 points to trade at 5.50 at the close. Ez Tec SA (BVMF:EZTC3 ) declined 4.85% or 0.72 points to end at 14.12 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3 ) was down 4.56% or 0.15 points to 3.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 535 to 405 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; down 24.14% or 1.75 to 5.50.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.15% to 26.10.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 16.60 to $2,554.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.88% or 1.40 to hit $75.92 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.00% or 7.70 to trade at $248.75 .
USD/BRL was up 1.13% to 5.63, while EUR/BRL rose 0.84% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.31.
