Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials , Consumption and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ), which rose 4.87% or 0.29 points to trade at 6.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3 ) added 1.69% or 0.11 points to end at 6.61 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3 ) was up 1.67% or 0.52 points to 31.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3 ), which fell 8.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 7.47 at the close. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3 ) declined 3.87% or 0.19 points to end at 4.72 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3 ) was down 3.76% or 0.05 points to 1.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 535 to 422 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3 ) fell to all time lows; down 8.00% or 0.65 to 7.47.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.62% to 27.30.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 13.70 to $2,654.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $68.33 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.08% or 2.90 to trade at $272.05 .
USD/BRL was up 0.25% to 5.45, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.06% to 6.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 100.50.
