Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ), which rose 10.20% or 0.45 points to trade at 4.86 at the close. Meanwhile, IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3 ) added 5.35% or 2.64 points to end at 51.96 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3 ) was up 3.59% or 0.32 points to 9.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:RRRP3 ), which fell 5.28% or 1.42 points to trade at 25.47 at the close. Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3 ) declined 5.16% or 2.41 points to end at 44.30 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3 ) was down 4.21% or 0.13 points to 2.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 580 to 377 and 57 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.67% to 26.45.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 4.20 to $2,523.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.27% or 3.14 to hit $70.41 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.72% or 1.75 to trade at $242.30 .
USD/BRL was up 0.36% to 5.64, while EUR/BRL rose 0.23% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 101.73.
