Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials , Electric Power and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ), which rose 3.69% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivara Participacoes SA (BVMF:VIVA3 ) added 3.09% or 0.85 points to end at 28.34 and Multiplan SA (BVMF:MULT3 ) was up 2.39% or 0.62 points to 26.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3 ), which fell 3.91% or 0.93 points to trade at 22.86 at the close. Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3 ) declined 3.78% or 0.35 points to end at 8.90 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3 ) was down 3.71% or 0.18 points to 4.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 487 to 471 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3 ) fell to all time lows; down 3.78% or 0.35 to 8.90.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.34% to 26.93.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 12.75 to $2,545.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.42% or 2.35 to hit $66.36 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.06% or 2.60 to trade at $248.00 .
USD/BRL was up 1.34% to 5.66, while EUR/BRL rose 1.21% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 101.61.
