Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare , Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB ), which rose 2.99% or 0.98 points to trade at 33.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB ) added 2.17% or 4.00 points to end at 188.00 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI ) was up 1.38% or 0.15 points to 11.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG ), which fell 1.30% or 0.36 points to trade at 27.34 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ) declined 1.29% or 6.20 points to end at 475.70 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI ) was down 1.17% or 0.68 points to 57.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 45 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.17% or 4.00 to 188.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 3.90 to $2,596.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.74% or 0.52 to hit $69.44 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.56 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.61.
