Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology , Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB ), which rose 1.97% or 0.70 points to trade at 36.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ) added 0.87% or 4.30 points to end at 496.70 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS ) was up 0.76% or 0.55 points to 73.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI ), which fell 2.83% or 2.90 points to trade at 99.70 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX ) declined 2.45% or 0.17 points to end at 6.78 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB ) was down 2.06% or 4.00 points to 190.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 65 to 30 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.97% or 0.70 to 36.31.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 17.10 to $2,673.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.29% or 0.20 to hit $70.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.19 to trade at $73.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.26.
