Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials , Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.88% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS ), which rose 3.08% or 2.20 points to trade at 73.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ) added 2.53% or 11.70 points to end at 474.10 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS ) was up 2.02% or 1.60 points to 80.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB ), which fell 2.39% or 1.50 points to trade at 61.15 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:AOO ) declined 2.34% or 1.45 points to end at 60.60 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP ) was down 2.05% or 0.50 points to 23.86.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 47 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 17.45 to $2,555.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.87% or 1.39 to hit $75.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 1.06 to trade at $78.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.28.
