Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.38%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.38% to hit a new 52-week high.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ), which rose 3.50% or 16.40 points to trade at 485.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Aedifica (EBR:AOO ) added 1.34% or 0.85 points to end at 64.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB ) was up 1.06% or 0.70 points to 66.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS ), which fell 4.60% or 3.50 points to trade at 72.55 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB ) declined 2.04% or 0.70 points to end at 33.58 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI ) was down 1.77% or 1.02 points to 56.74.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.80 to $2,682.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.91% or 1.37 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.11 to trade at $73.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 100.50.
