Adani Total Gas shares jump 8% after subsidiary commissions biogas plant in Mathura

Adani Total Gas stock has corrected from its 52-week high of Rs 1,259.40 which it hit on December 8, 2023, and is trading at a discount of 21% from the peak.

Shares of (ATG) jumped 8% on Monday to hit the day's high of Rs 1,000 on the NSE after the company informed about its wholly-owned subsidiary Adani Total Energies Biomass Limited (ATBL) commissioning operations at phase 1 of its Barsana Biogas Plant.

This is the second day of gains for the Adani group company.

The plant is located in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. Upon stabilisation of phase 1, it will process 225 tons per day (TPD) of agriculture waste and cattle dung and generate 10 TPD of CBG, the company filing claimed. The Barsana biogas project has three project phases and would attain the overall capacity of 600 TPD of feedstock, generating over 42 TPD of compressed biogas (CBG) and 217 TPD of organic fertiliser upon full commissioning.

This plant will be India’s largest agri waste-based bio-CNG plant upon reaching full design capacity at phase 3. The project cost for all three project phases for the Barsana Biogas plant would be over Rs 200 crore. This is ATBL’s first CBG production facility.

has witnessed a strong uptick over the past 6 months, gaining nearly 60% during this period. This is a significant outperformance over Nifty which has delivered returns of 15% in the same period. In 2024 so far, ATG stock has corrected approximately 3% over the 2023 closing price.

Not just ATG, other Adani Group stocks were also trading with a positive bias. Adani Enterprises, Adani Energy Solutions (4%), Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Green Energy, Adani Power, Adani Wilmar, ACC (0.40%), Ambuja Cements and New Delhi Television (NDTV) gained between 0.40% and 5%.
