Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.70%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Rubber and Glass sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.70%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were China Motor Corp (TW:2204 ), which rose 9.97% or 7.30 points to trade at 80.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444 ) added 9.87% or 1.50 points to end at 16.70 and Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101 ) was up 9.57% or 1.00 points to 11.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593 ), which fell 9.99% or 0.94 points to trade at 8.47 at the close. Avision Inc (TW:2380 ) declined 9.96% or 0.55 points to end at 4.97 and Foxconn (SS:601138 ) Technology Co Ltd (TW:2354 ) was down 9.91% or 9.30 points to 84.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593 ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 9.99% or 0.94 to 8.47. Shares in Avision Inc (TW:2380 ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 9.96% or 0.55 to 4.97. Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101 ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.57% or 1.00 to 11.45.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.23% or 0.16 to $68.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.19% or 0.14 to hit $72.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 8.30 to trade at $2,660.00 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.23% to 32.59, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.53.
