Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.99%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Other Electronic , Electronic Parts/Components and Glass sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.99%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were PCL Technologies Inc (TW:4977 ), which rose 10.00% or 13.00 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. Meanwhile, FSP Technology Inc (TW:3015 ) added 10.00% or 6.40 points to end at 70.40 and Polytronics Technology Corp (TW:6224 ) was up 9.98% or 6.20 points to 68.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lead Data Inc (TW:2443 ), which fell 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Hitron Technologies Inc (TW:2419 ) declined 9.52% or 3.40 points to end at 32.30 and Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW:1235 ) was down 8.50% or 12.50 points to 134.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in PCL Technologies Inc (TW:4977 ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.00% or 13.00 to 143.00. Shares in FSP Technology Inc (TW:3015 ) rose to all time highs; up 10.00% or 6.40 to 70.40.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.06% or 0.04 to $68.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $72.25 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.06 to trade at $2,676.14 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.09% to 32.39, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 106.14.
