Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.57% in a weak market

Phoenix Mills Ltd.(down 3.74 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(down 2.08 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Realty index was down 1.57 per cent at 918.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 137.35 points at 21858.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 414.04 points at 72074.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, Indus Towers and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Eldeco Housing, Par Drugs & Chemical, KM Sugar Mills, Sri Adhikari and Bajel Projects hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Lakshmi Precis, MEP Infrastructure, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Bata India and Sumeet Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
