Stock market update: Nifty Realty index  falls  1.03%

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.03 per cent down at 962.65.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 4.27 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(up 1.47 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 3.73 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(down 2.6 per cent), Phoenix Mills Ltd.(down 2.25 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 2.04 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.03 per cent down at 962.65.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 172.36 points at 22475.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 732.96 points at 73878.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, NHPC and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Rane Brake Lin, Arrow Greentech, Oriental Hotels, Univastu India and Hindustan Zinc hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Emami Paper Mil, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Signpost India and Osia Hyper Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
