Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.08% in a weak market

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 6.47 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 6.11 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 5.11 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 4.64 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 4.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.08 per cent at 18660.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 982.06 points at 22281.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 3272.36 points at 73196.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, NHPC, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ujaas Energy, Viceroy Hotels, TCI Finance, Creative Eye and Heritage Foods hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Filatex Fashions, SRM Contractors, Awfis Space Solution and BLS E-Services hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
