Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.96%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.96 per cent down at 18463.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Biocon Ltd.(up 3.32 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.76 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.71 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.58 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 3.61 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 2.25 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.96 per cent down at 18463.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 31.6 points at 22368.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.83 points at 73738.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Easy Trip Planners and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Smartlink Holdings, Tejas Networks, Sudarshan Chemical, Cochin Shipyard and Indraprastha Med hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tembo Global Indust, Atal Realtech, Best Agrolife, GIR Natureview and Lakshmi Precis hit their fresh 52-week lows.
