Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.78% in a weak market

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.78 per cent at 20563.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 73.71 points at 24250.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 300.81 points at 79623.96.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, SCI and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mallcom(India), JHS Svendgaard Retai, SCI, HPL Electric Power and IZMO hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JP Associates, SecUR Credentials, Praxis Home Retail, Sarthak Metals and Shyam Telecom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
