Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.65%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.65 per cent down at 18404.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(up 0.41 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin Ltd.(down 2.92 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(down 2.7 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 2.47 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.08 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.59 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.65 per cent down at 18404.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 151.16 points at 22147.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 599.34 points at 73088.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 21 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Tata Steel and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of KM Sugar Mills, Eldeco Housing, Solara Active Pharma, Hindustan Motor and Force Motors hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sumeet Ind, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), MEP Infrastructure, Future Supply Chain and Bata India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
