Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.6% in an upbeat market

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 3.77 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 2.15 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.06 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.03 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.6 per cent at 19089.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 18.05 points at 22547.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 76.8 points at 74030.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tainwala Chem, GeeCee Ventures, Ausom Enterprise, Alicon Castalloy and HB Stockholding hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equip, Brightcom Group, Regency Ceramic, Sinclairs Hotel and Filatex Fash hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
