The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.52 per cent down at 19216.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 4.96 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.87 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 2.46 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.2 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.35 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin Ltd.(down 4.85 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.88 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.52 per cent down at 19216.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 369.86 points at 22967.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1196.98 points at 75418.04.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GRSE, Cochin Shipyard, Elgi Rubber Co, Max Estates and Signet Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, United Polyfab Gujar, Atal Realtech, GSS Infotech and Megastar Foods hit their fresh 52-week lows.
