The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.22 per cent down at 18768.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Sanofi India Ltd.(up 3.28 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.63 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.57 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.55 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.18 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(down 1.59 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.22 per cent down at 18768.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 118.96 points at 22123.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 526.01 points at 72996.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Suzlon Energy and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nuvama Wealth Manage, Arvind SmartSpaces, Onelife Capital, Jyoti CNC Automation and Rico Auto hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NACL Industries, Shreeoswal Seeds, Lexus Granito(India), Commercial Syn Bags and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
