Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.14% in an upbeat market

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.14 per cent at 19157.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 5.21 points at 22448.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 19.43 points at 73923.34.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, NALCO and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DJ Mediaprint & Logi, GE Power India, Nila Spaces L, Manorama Ind and Indian Metals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gopal Snacks, Mask Investments, GIR Natureview and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
